The Journey to BITTEN – The ‘BITE’ Tales!

I am so excited to announced my next projectS – yes, with an ‘S’!

My writing career began in August 2016 when I published my first novel, BITE. I have said before that BITE was always intended to be a standalone novel, which is why in the years after 2016 my next works were Slasher and Ghost Train (along with A LOT of short stories which I put up available to read for free on this site), all focusing on building the Southumberland universe.

However, the time eventually came to re-direct my focus, because there was something left unfinished with BITE. I wanted to explore Kevin Baxter’s life more after the climax of the novel, and the impacts of his actions on those who had been closest to him, as well as branching out to explore horror monsters other than werewolves. These feelings culminated in BITES, published last year, four years after its predecessor.

Time after time I have said that BITE and the universe around it is my baby, and this announcement is bitter-sweet because while it marks the beginning of the end for the series, there is so much more to come over these next few years, before I turn back one more to wrapping up the Southumberland anthology. What the future holds after that, I have no idea, but I have plenty to keep me going for a while yet, and no doubt other ideas will germinate during that time!

BITTEN – the concluding chapter of the BITE trilogy – is now scheduled for an August 2024 release. To tide us over, and to fill in all of the gaps between the novels within the trilogy, I am today announcing The ‘BITE’ Tales, a series of e-book exclusive novellas. These tales will flesh out characters from throughout the series and act as bridges between the main novels as we journey towards BITTEN.

The titles of the three novellas, and their release dates, are as follows:

Black Wolf – August 2021

Hunters – August 2022

Bloodsuckers – August 2023

More details on Black Wolf will follow shortly, including a look at its cover, plot details, and exact release date so you can mark your calendars!
